Akino went on a bus for touring the temples dotting a hazy plain, and next to one of the temples they stopped at, she found ruins. There, she found a stone monument of a coiled up naga buried in the dry grass. There was a small enclosure around the monument in the sketch, but she ended up removing it from the painting. The naga, a diefication of snakes (cobras), has been quietly placed on the dried earth. The naga, who presides over immortality, longevity, fertility, and procreation, trancends time.
