The first VE 301 was developed by the Dr. G. Seibt Company and it was presented in August 1933 at the Great German Radio Exhibition. The German radio manufacturers were obliged to produce the "People’s Receiver" in accordance with standardized specifications. Even the low price was prescribed by the state. It had been recognized that the majority of the population could be reached by radio, even they did not attend Nazi events. It was via the "People's Receiver" that propaganda made it into people's homes.
