Elevated view from Santa Monica Palisades of the Southern Pacific R.R. Mammoth Wharf, named Long Wharf, extending into ocean. Shows two railroad tracks, four-car train pulled by steam locomotive on outgoing tracks; vessels moored at end of wharf in distance. Built as a freight pier by the Southern Pacific Railroad Company in 1893, demolished in 1920.
