Spring driven with lever escapement. Manual winding. Caliber 24.
Golden case with double lid has a shape of a pocket watch with a hinge at the 9 o'clock position. White enamel dial with a large number of indicators – hours are indicated with black Arabic numerals, minutes with dashes (every fifth with a number). At the 9 o'clock position is the small second dial, at the 3 o'clock is the dial with indication of the past minutes. The hands of burnished steel to indicate hours, minutes and past seconds. At the edge is the telemeter with marks from 1 to 20 km. In the middle of the spiral tachymeter with labels from 20 to 200 km/h. On the edge of the casing is a button for starting and stopping the chronograph, and crown for winding and setting the clock.
This watch has a button which runs the hands of the chronograph, stops and returns them to the starting position. Later two will be the usual – one for starting and stopping, the second for returning to the starting position. Inside, the metal cover serves as a protection mechanism because the exterior, gold, is very thin.
Sabina is the brand name of the company Paul Virgil Mathez, established in 1888 as Virgil Mathez, which received the mentioned name in 1919. In 2008, the company declared its liquidation.
