This horse riding saddle is a treasure given by Kato Kiyomasa, the lord of the Kumamoto domain, when Muneshige's troops took part as the rear guard of his army in Urusan for the invasion of Korea.
In the center of the front and back panels is the sliver emblem ‘Gyoyo’ that Muneshige used as the crest of the Tachibana family. On the backside of the left panel that connects those front and rear panels, there is a record of the creation year which reads ‘Tensho 14 (1586)’.
