Saint Anthony

In this image made of ivory, Saint Anthony is shown with the usual Franciscan characteristics i.e. the Franciscan habit with the hood at the back, the Franciscan tonsure, and, the long cord belt with its three knots. He holds a staff in his right hand. He is shown carrying the Bible in his left hand upon which the Infant Jesus is shown seated in majesty, with his right hand raised in blessing and the left holding the orb.
