A saint, holding an abbot or bishop’s crozier, blesses a kneeling figure, probably the donor who commissioned the window. It forms a pair with another panel showing Saint Fiacre, also owned by the Museum. This saint may be Faro (died 672), a Benedictine monk and bishop of Meaux in France who was Fiacre’s patron. Both men were subjects of devotion in the Île-de-France during the early sixteenth century. Although Faro and Fiacre were renowned for their work among the poor, the donor here is shown as a wealthy man wearing a fur-lined cloak.
