It shows Kaminarimon gate of Senso-ji temple in Edo Asakusa with sprinkled metallic powders on vermilion lacquer. There are statues standing on both sides of the gate, the Wind God and the Thunder God. The picture depicts the Thunder God and the shopping street in the precincts of the temple. It has an inscription “Thunder gate/Kakosai.” Kakosai is considered to be a member of the Kajikawa family, and was patronized by Shogunate family in the late Edo period.
