This wine cup is considered to be one of a set of three cups with different sizes, given from a superior.
A landscape picture is executed with sprinkled metal powders on the vermilion lacquered interior surface.
The view is from the Hanakawado area, showing the top of the gate of the Mimeguri Shrine across the Sumida River.
Go up the stairs of the river bank near the roof boat, and you will see the gate of the Mimeguri Shrine ahead and a farmer’s house in Suzaki village on the left.
On the exterior of the cup, It bears an inscription, ‘三囲 (Mimeguri) /可交斎 (Kakōsai)’ inside the footring.
