The catholic prayer room in Altenkessel was built by the mountain treasury in 1870 for the workers in Gerhard pit. The sandstone building with arched windows was used by miners' families as a religious retreat for a long time. It has now been rebuilt as a residential building. The technical drawing shows exterior views, an outline and a cross and longitudinal section of the prayer room.
