Samite robe with geometric floral and leaf motifs

Most robes from the Liao dynasty have straight or round collars, but this robe, with its cross- over collar, is a rare exception. Made of samite with a silk tabby lining, the robe has narrow sleeves, a left front panel, silk floss padding and a vent in the back to facilitate horseback riding.
