Oblong book with blue cardboard covers contains 46 samples of printed cotton; two have been cut in half. Six individual patterns balance duplicates. Designs are small scale, printed mostly in bright red, blue green, and dark brown. Probably combination roller and block-printing. No selvage.

  • Viewing Notes: Multiple Choice: From Sample to ProductIn these samples, fine dots were created using an engraved metal plate or roller, while larger areas of color were block printed. The two printing techniques are especially evident in swatches where larger dots of block-printed color appear alongside the microdots and honeycombs.
