Alphabets at top and brightly colored floral and animal motifs in field within small floral border. Sampler was probably begun at one date and completed many years later. Original motifs; alphabets, tied bouquet of flowers, parrot on tree and man leading horse are long armed cross and cross using silk. Other motifs, including date are cross stitch using mercerized cotton. The older embroidery is finely worked, the newer embroidery is coarse.
