Samples register

Record of the Calais factories since 1838. The city's "tissutheque" (fabric library) collects, preserves and protects nearly 1,500 records of mechanical lace samples, totaling more than 500,000 samples. It provides a snapshot of Calais production in pre-defined periods. A representative selection of these records is displayed in the gallery devoted to mechanical lace.
