Samuel Smith breakfast table

This Samuel Smith breakfast table was the first piece of furniture commissioned by the 5th Earl of Dumfries, the design for the table was taken from the Chippendale Director 1754. Smith had hoped that he would receive the commission for all of the furniture the House required, however the 5th Earl decided to commission Chippendale directly.
