San Joaquín

In an oval format, the figure of Saint Joachim occupies the center of the composition. It depicts an old man with a tender look, which is directed towards the viewer. He wears a navy-blue robe and a red mantle with golden features in shapes of flowers. The border of the mantle has fretwork. An ermine covers him like a small cape and he wears sandals. He carries a book with both his hands, which has also golden features. Saint Joachim is sitting over the clouds, which occupy the whole composition. In the upper part, there are two couples of cherubs.
