Title: Sandalwood deck type hand fan
Physical Dimensions: A 20.1 X Env 33.5 cm
Provenance: It is believed that the hand fan was originated in 7th century China, although portrayed since antiquity, in murals from Egypt, Assyria and Persia. It was widespread in Japan, where Europeans discovered the novelty, bringing it to Europe in the late 15th century.
