While giving the sandook as a gift to the bride in her wedding, a red coloured thread is tied around the knob or either of the legs as a part of the traditional ritual. This sandook, placed in the corner of the room had the thread tied on the knob of the opening. It was replaced during festivals or on auspicious occasions in the house.
