Sarcophagus made of “kadel” (a limestone quarried in the surroundings of Carthage); from the Early Christian Necropolis. The lid has not been preserved.
On the front there is a central framed inscription with the name Leocadius and his post, ”primicerius domesticorum” (head of the imperial properties). On the far left is a scene of Moses receiving the tablets of the Ten Commandments. On the right there is a scene of Abraham and the sacrifice of Isaac. The former is standing and in profile, with his head raised and turned, looking behind him. Between the inscription and the depictions there are two bands of strigils.
