Like a ship stuck in the weeds of the Sargasso Sea, so is a woman trapped in the maze of her memories and unfulfilled desires. In the Symphonic Elegies of Ernst Krenek the choreographer found the oppressive atmosphere for his drama of human limitation. The decor suggests a way out, towards infinity, but never for those who are too lost in their own problems.
