Unlike other Buddhist scriptures that focused on ascetic exercises and learning, this Dharani Sutra is a Buddhist sutra that is a series of Esoteric Buddhism, focusing on the Buddhist merits of Dharani Sutra. There is a preface written by Eonjong, saying Duxingyi originally translated this in 680, but there were errors, so Divakara translated it again in 682. At the end of the book, the contributions of Great Wheel Vajra Dharani and Surya prabha’s mantra were acknowledged.
