Scales

This is a metal beam balance with a brass pan suspended from each arm. The fulcrum of the horizontal lever is fixed so the beam can move up and down until it reaches equilibrium. On the upper part of the pillar, a fixing bar with a loop is attached, and two hands are vertically placed inside the loop in such a way that their points are faced to each other, for vertical calibration.
