The Throne Holder here is depicted seated in the posture of royal ease, with right leg pendant. His right hand is cupped to his ear, and a meditation belt is across his body, which is draped in a white shawl. Numerous scenes that show gatherings, travels, and ritual dances (most of which are depicted among Mongolian tents) indicate that his activities were largely among the Mongolian people, possibly in Khalkha. He is seen presiding at two Black Hat ritual dance performances usually associated with the practice of Vajrakilaya, a tantric deity and remover of obstacles. In contrast to his depiction as the central figure, in all the smaller scenes he is shown in regular monk’s robes and Sakya hats.
