Schenectady NY - Donating her pint of blood for medical use is Mrs. H. Peter Converse (14 Washington Ave) Schenectady housewife. Her blood will be rushed to a new 'Mobile blood processing laboratory," where automatic equipment separates it into components. The mobile was publicly demonstrated for the first time today during the fall meeting of the National Academy of Sciences now being held at the GE Research laboratory. Cohn, Director of Harvard University laboratory of Physical Chemistry, under whose guidance the new, fast method of processing whole blood were developed, centralized the handling and processing of blood and blood derivatives needed for public health and security.
