Snowshoes for dogs

Leather snowshoes of this type were put on the feet of sled dogs to protect their paws on ice-encrusted routes. This pair was included in an ethnological exposition held in 1877/1878 by the Hagenbeck company. The participants in the exposition were recruited in West Greenland.
