The first King Ptolemy founded a cult place for the muses (Museion) in Alexandria which served as a centre where the various sciences which flourished during the Hellenist era were taught and researched. A wooden tablet with verses by Homer is a relic of the schools of Antiquity. In order to facilitate the reading of the words, which were usually written without gaps between them, here accents are used to mark the divisions.
