The small fixed-angle scoop was used for collecting soil from the lunar surface on Apollo 12 and 14. Stowed on the small tool carrier, the scoop pan was fitted with a steel blade to enable it to serve as a chisel and the extension handle attachment point was reinforced. It was not used as a chisel during the lunar missions. This object was used for training and was transferred from NASA to the Smithsonian in 1972.
