Original sculpture in the round of Juan Sebastián Elcano. It is a copy from the beginning of the 19th century of the sculpture created by Alfonso Giraldo Bergaz, director of sculpture at the San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts (Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando), who carved the marble piece in 1800. It can be found within the General Archive of the Indies (Archivo General de las Indias) in Seville—inventory number 242.
