The von Keyserling and von Keudel families merged in 1834. Von Keyserling is an old German-Baltic family that came to territory of Latvia during the Crusades in the 15th century and later spread to Estonia, Prussia and Russia and von Keudel is the surname of an old Hessen noble family.
