Seder plate

The Seder plate with a picture of a family celebration of the Seder night was produced by the manufactory in Herend. On the rim of the plate, there are little medallions naming elements of the Seder in Hebrew. The painting is a reproduction of picture, from the first illustrated printed editions of the Haggadah from Venice in 1609, which was well-known in the Jewish community in the second half of the nineteenth century.
