Selected Passages from Confucian Women’s Classics for Women’s Education

This book has Korean annotations to important Chinese classics for an education of Joseon women. It is a unique book in Korea, and is estimated to have been published in mid 18th Century. Out of three parts, the first and second volumes include the Four Books and the Three Classics, 『Tongseo』, 『Shimgyeong』, 『Geunsarok』, 『Sok-Geunsarok』, and 『Seonglidaejeon』, all classics and neo-Confucian books. Volume three has 12 writings on virtues women’s biography, epitaph, and deportment, written by Jeong Yi, Song Si-yeol, and Kim Chang-Heub.
