A stylised human movement in the form of a bust with indicated eyes, mouth and hair, looking to the right, in brown, ochre and orange tones and additional processing by drawing on the canvas using a sharp object. Led by the inner dictation, Simonović animates presentations and apparitions of remote landscapes of his soul, shaped depending on instant mood. Whether intentionally or not, the game of subconsciousness evokes most various metaphorical presentations in the observer, thus authentic circus staff, harlequins, dancers, zoomorphic or hybrid creatures will cruise over the surface of Simonović’s canvas. The artist sometimes positions these motifs in the middle of the composition, sometimes away from it, thus attracting the observer more or less suggestively into the inner flux of the painting. Creating a “small stage” within the painting, Simonović thus evokes specific scenic-performing spirit which vibrates within a different reality (N. Ljubomirović).
