This picture scroll depicts scenes of Sengu procession held on New Year’s Day of 1823. It was a ceremony to transfer two deities from the Yuiitsu shrine to the Baigaku shrine in the third compound of the Yanagawa castle. These two deities are the first lord of the Yanagawa domain, Tachibana Muneshige, and his wife, Ginchiyo.
