Simon Wan graduated from the University of Wales in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Documentary Photography. He was a part-time tutor at the Department of Fine Arts, the University of Hong Kong, in 2002. He founded “The Photocrafters” in 2006, aiming to promote photographic culture in Hong Kong. Wan's works have been showcased locally and overseas. City-Glow series is to capture the elements of Asian cities and to remind the audience of what they may have been unaware in their daily lives. Globalisation is turning Asian cities into urban hubs pulsating with urgency. But all their glitzy lights, clustered shops and shiny glass towers are but accidental and transient phenomena in the eyes of the artist.
