The Sepia Socialite Publishing Company was located on the Dryades Street business corridor in New Orleans. Founded by Alonzo and Louise H. Willis, the company published the weekly Sepia Socialite from approximately 1937 through 1945. The June 1942 issue was entitled The Negro in Louisiana: Seventy-eight Years of Progress and includes articles on African American leaders in education, business, and philanthropy from around the state. Articles and advertisements for businesses included everything from service stations and roadside diners to funeral homes and insurance agencies.
