Shadow-puppet headgear

In North Sichuan shadow puppetry the headgear is not attached to the puppet’s head. The same face can instantaneously take on a different role when matched with new headgear. The headgear is comprised of a crown, hat, helmet and bandana. It is one of the most important means of distinguishing the character's official status and identity. The headgear in this picture includes combat helmets and headgear used by deities.
