Shadows. On the way to the estate

The main objects in this composition are the shadows, stretching along the road to the estate, of the photographer himself and his companion Olga Dmitrievna Defabre. The pre-sunset July photograph was made in a truly impressionistic manner: it seems to speak to the impossibility of dreams and the elusiveness of time. The date and subject of the photograph can be read on the back of the print. They are written by the photographer, Fyodor Tyutchev, the grandson of the poet.
