A solid-cast ram’s head of the god Amun wearing a two-feathered crown adorns the centre of the shield-ring. The crown consists of tall falcon feathers behind a sun disc resting on twisted ram’s horns, complemented by three Uraei, who also wear crowns. [...] The ram-headed Amun was one of the most powerful gods of the south, and was revered for centuries in the realms of Napata and Meroë.
