As part of the designers' creative process, one garment often influenced another and a season would evolve organically. The Shimmer singlet built upon the motif featured on the ‘Stranded print silk chiffon’ fabric used in the same season by turning a flat print into three-dimensional embellishment. This singlet is decorated with zardoshi work in fine copper chain, on Lake’s Beauty cotton voile. This type of work is extremely fine and time-consuming. Lake’s Beauty is the finest cotton voile from Century Mills, one of the original large cotton mills in Mumbai, India. Zardoshi is an opulent form of Indian embroidery encompassing a variety of needlework and traditional techniques, mostly passed from father to son with secrecy.
