This is the world’s fastest train, but it has a problem: the noise! Because of its bullet-shaped front, in fact, the change in pressure inside and outside the galleries produced a loud noise. The solution? To give the front of the train the shape of the kingfisher’s beak, which allows it to dive in to the water without splashing. Results: a 10% speed increase, a 15% energy reduction. Without making so much noise!
