This painting depicts one of the principle Hindu gods, Shiva, and his consort, Parvati, on the central left. Shiva sits on a tiger's skin and holds a trishula in the left hand. The elephant-faced Ganesha, the son of Shiva, is painted on the bottom right while the Skanda riding a peacock is shown on the bottom left. The work has a decorative rim characteristic to Paubha painting.
