Narrow woman’s shoe with pointed end. Its mid-high heel was covered with soft goatskin. Its sole was filed with a coarse tool to ensure stability. The silk fabric covering the shoe is green and black squared. A strongly wrinkled green and pink silk ribbon frill falls on the forefoot, with an embroidered flower root visible under it. The flower, with many petals, is completed with tiny leaves and small buds.
In 18th century Europe, fashion was dictated by the French court. The shoe described above follows this Western fashion in its shape, fabric and decoration.
