Shooting Down the Sun

Du Leilei, born in 1951 in Heilongjiang province now lives and works in London, UK.Qu is one of the founding members of the Stars Group. He studied traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy from a young age and later taught himself Western art. He worked as an art designer at China Central Television (CCTV) in Beijing From 1982 to 1985, and then went to study at London Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1986. In 1989, he became a professional painter and has since held several solo exhibitions in London, Paris, New York, and Venice, among other places- Since 1999, he has been serving as Chairman of the Chinese Brush Painters Society in the UK.
