Shukubo (lodgings in a Temple) stand side by side as Monzen-machi (temple town) of Mt. Hagurosan. Shukubo is a form of accommodation designed for Buddhist and Shinto worshippers on the Dewa-sanzan (three Dewa mountains) where many worshippers gather. The quaint stores and houses on streets with signs everywhere still accept worshippers as before and continue to bequeath the history and culture of the area.
