Shutter from the William Stewart Home

This shutter was removed from the William Stewart Home located on John Street. The Stewart home is typical of frame cottages that were constructed by former slaves, black loyalists and African-American immigrants, who occupied the ‘coloured village’. The home is believed to have been built early in 1835.
