This tool was used to filter dry grass or leaves from grains or to sift powders, and was also called eoremi. A sieve was made by weaving bamboo strips or bush clover to create a mesh with a certain size of holes. The sieve is rimmed with branches of trees such as ash trees that is rolled into a circle as a handle. This type of sieve was generally round or square. It is the smallest and simplest tool used for sorting grains, which was ideal for one person to use alone.
