Presentation piece, modelled in the form of an Australian lyre bird made of silver, silver gilt and ebonised wood, stand is surmounted with the figure of a lyrebird, its wings half raised with chased details, eleven long filaments with lateral branches, and two outer gilt feathers gracefully curving in the shape of a lyre. The sides of the stand are applied with oval silver plates, the corners with gilt fern leaves. The base is surmounted by a flat octagonal sheet, with a circular applied boss stamped 'crown/H.STEINER/queen's head/lion passant (the mark overstruck at Goldsmith's Hall)'.
