This printed cotton, designed by Arthur Heygate Mackmurdo for the Century Guild, is typical of the Guild's proto-art nouveau designs, also seen in the book and furnishing designs. This example is a trialpiece and has a stencil at the top centre. The fabric was available in red/brown, ochre/pink, brown, green and turquoise colourways.
