Drawing developed by Alfredo Keil (1850-1907) for the print cover of "Six Mélodies: L’Abime". "Six Mélodies" was composed by Keil on poems by Sully Prudhomme and J. T. de Saint Germain.

Being more popularly recognized as the author of the Portuguese national anthem, Alfredo Keil is a cross-cutting and multifaceted figure of the Portuguese culture who developed, with great relevance, work as a romantic painter, photographer, poet, composer or collector.

Museu Nacional da Música holds both his musical archive as well as the musical instruments collection he assembled.
