'Skew-whiff' (off-balance) illustrated that Paul Lightfoot and Sol León are highly talented. Beside their well known slightly ironic approach, this work for four dancers shows volcanic dance energy that in a tightly maintained composition, comes to an explosion. 'Skew-whiff' is set to music from Gioacchino Rossini's opera 'La Gazza Ladra'.

”I wrote the ouverture 'La Gazza Ladra' the day of the premiere performance in the attic of La Scala, where I was imprisoned by the director and guarded by four stage hands, who were under orders to throw my manuscript from the window, page by page, to the hungry copyist, who were waiting below to collect all music parts. If the music score was not ready, the guards were under orders to throw me from the window.”
– Gioacchino Rossini
